Reference Range:

2.0 - 7.0 ug/L.
For adult patients on methotrextate therapy for psoriasis:
> 7 ug/L – First occasion: repeat in 3 months.
If P3NP is raised:
>13 ug/L on two occasions; or
<7 ug/L but <13 ug/L on three occasions within 12 months; or
>17 ug/L on one occasion
results may indicate liver fibrosis – suggest onward referral for specialist advice.

Sample Requirements:

Minimum 0.5 mL serum.

If sending from external laboratory: Sample stable for up to 7 days refrigerated. Freeze if analysis delayed longer than 7 days and keep frozen until dispatch.
